Wilbur Ryder passed away on December 20, 2006, just shy of his 91st birthday. Wilbur was born in Everett, to Arnold and Beulah Ryder on January 9, 1916. He attended Everett schools, but quit before graduating to help support his family during the Depression. Wilbur proudly served in the Navy, and the Naval Reserve, earning the rank of Chief Petty Officer.
He was happily married twice, once to Clara, and after her passing to Mabel. He was a very successful plumber in the Everett area for many years, culminating in his ownership of Rucker Avenue Plumbing. He lived most recently in Washington Oakes, one block from where he was born and in the elementary school he attended starting in 1st grade.
He leaves behind two daughters, Linda Dugger of Tacoma, Washington, and Roberta Merrill of Mooresville, North Carolina; and one son, Donald Ryder of Lake Forest Park, Washington. He also leaves behind many grandchildren and great grand children.
A memorial service will be held at 10 a.m., December 28, at the Evergreen Funeral Home, 4504 Broadway, Everett, WA.
