Son of John and Cecelia (Steffes) Brockhaus, was born
March 21, 1930 at Omaha. He graduated from Madison High School with the class of 1948. He attended and graduated from Norfolk Junior College in 1950 and then attended the College of Mortuary Science in St. Louis, MO. On Feb. 14, 1955, he was married to Jean Werner at St. Bridget's Catholic Church in Omaha. They lived in the Omaha area where Bob was a licensed Funeral Director for the Larkin Funeral Home for 44 years, retiring in 1994.
Bob served in the U.S. Army from 1955-1957 and was a member of American Legion Post # 374 of Millard. He was also a member of the Millard Lions Club and a past member of the Nebraska Funeral Directors Association.
Survivors include his wife, Jean of Omaha; daughters, Vicki, and her husband Jim Sanfilippo of St. Louis, MO, Sherri Karloff of Gretna, NE, Patti and her husband Chuck Huetter of Omaha; sons, David and Emmett Brockhaus; 5 grandchildren, Matt Sanfilippo, Brock Karlof, Brittany Karlof, Travis Huetter and Marisa Huetter; brothers, Bill Brockhaus and wife Glena of South Sioux City, NE, LarryBrockhaus and wife Diane of Overland Park, KS; and a sister, Marilyn peters and husband Paul of Omaha; sister-in-law, Jean Brockhaus of Creighton.
He was preceded in death by his parents and one brother, Gerry.
SERVICES: 10 AM Wed., St. John Vianney Catholic Church. Interment Voss-Mohr Cemetery with full military honors by VFW Post # 8334 and American Legion Post # 374 of Millard . VISITATION: Tues. from 3-7 PM at St. John Vianney Catholic Church with a Vigil Service at 7 PM at the church.
