Oliver Schlecht, 71,Gackle,ND died saturday morning December 10, 2005 at Med Center One Hospital in Bismarck,ND after a battle with cancer.
Oliver Leslie Schlechtwas born September 14,1943,on the family farm north of Fredonia,ND, son of Godhielf and Susan(Burkle) Schlecht He attended school at Gackle and graduated from Kulm High School in 1952. then on to Ellendale College and taught school in Fredonia for 5 yrs. he married June Heuple Dec. 18, 1953 at Wishek,ND. they made there home on the farm south of Gackle. he was a member of Assembly of God church in Gackle and taught sunday school . He was a board member of the Gackle Co-op oil.
survived by his wife June, of Gackle, three sons Carey(Wanda)Schlecht, Wilmer,MN. Larry(Cheryl) Schlecht, Apple Valley, MN. Harry(Cathy) Schlecht Jamestown,ND. two daughters Kay (Larry)? Jamestown,ND. Sarah (Steve) Oberlander,Jamestown,ND.9 grandchildren, 3 great grandchildren, 3 brothers Chester of Gackle,ND. Wesley G. (Connie) Schlecht . Solomon S. (Judy), all of Edgeley,ND. Murhel(James) Carlson, Ellendale,ND.preceded in death by his parents and an infant son Robert, a sister Selma Groth.
