Mrs. Susie Rank, 92, RFD 5, died Friday morning at Trinity Regional Hospital following a length (sic) illness. Services will be at 9 a.m. Monday in the chapel of Laufersweiler Funeral Home and at 9:30 a.m. in Holy Rosary Catholic Church with Monsignor Louis Lynch, chaplain at Trinity Regional Hospital, and Monsignor E. L. McEvoy, chaplain of the Marian Home, concelebrating the mass of the resurrection. Burial will be in Corpus Christi Cemetery. A rosary will be said at 8 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home. Friends may call after 6 p.m. Saturday.
Surviving are sons Joseph and James, both of Fort Dodge, Francis, Vinton, and Louis, Lehigh; daughter, Mrs. Anna Barlow, Fort Dodge; 17 grandchildren; 35 great-grandchildren; several great-great-grandchildren; and a sister, Mrs. Maggie Duker, Rockwell City. A daughter, Mrs. Marie Zuspann, died last January.
Susie Mattix was born near Vincent and attended school there and in Fort Dodge. She married Joseph P. Rank in 1907 in Fort Dodge and the couple lived on a farm east of Fort Dodge. Mr. Rank died in 1955. Mrs. Rank continued to live on the farm until becoming a resident of the Villa Care Center in 1976.
