Alfred Stollenwerk, 70, of 220 E. Ninth St., died at 1:15 p.m. Friday at St. Agnes Hospital. Mr. Stollenwerk, who retired in 1969, was formerly employed as a car foreman in the Soo Line Railroad Shops.
He was born Aug. 28, 1902, in the Town of Marshfield to Joseph and Mary Andrew Stollenwerk. On July 15, 1924, he married the former Mildred Dix and they lived in Fond du Lac all their married lives.
Mr. Stollenwerk was a member of St. Joseph's Church and its Holy Name Society. He also belonged to the American Railway Supervisors Association.
He is survived by his widow and one daughter, Mrs. Anthony May of St. Peter, eight grandchildren, and one sister, Mrs. Constance Phaff of Alhambra, Calif. A brother and sister preceded him in death.
Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Monday at Candlish Chapel and at 10:30 a.m. at St. Joseph's Church. The Rev. Richard E. Mirsberger will officiate and burial will be in Calvary Cemetery.
Relatives and friends may call at the funeral home on Sunday from 3 to 5 and 7 to 9 p.m.
