Ellen (Jolma) Foley, 92, passed away Friday, March 16 at Memorial Medical Center, Ashland. She was born on October 7, 1908 in Ironwood, Michigan to Axel and Wilhelmina Antilla.

On January 16, 1927 she married Henry Benjamin Jolma. They farmed in the Marengo area until Henry's death in 1969. Ellen later married Christian Patrick Foley in 1972.

Ellen moved in the Ashland Health and Rehabilitation Services in 1997. She was a member of the Old Apostolic Lutheran Church in Marengo.

She is survived by her four sons: Daniel (Janice) Jolma of Marengo, John (Esther) Jolma of Ashland, Fran (Marva) Jolma of Marengo, Mark (Barbara) Jolma of Marengo; five daughters: LaVerne (Dean) Webb of Marengo, Priscilla (Raymond) Blakeman of Marengo, Mary (Silas) Blakeman of Marengo, Ruth (Harold) Redinger of Ashland, Rachel Granger of Marengo; 80 grandchildren, 322 great-grandchildren, 14 great-great-grandchildren, her sister Lorraine Harrold of Howell, Michigan, her brother Edwin Antilla of Vancouver, Washington, and numerous nieces, nephews and step-children.

She was preceded in death by her parents, two daughters: Eleanor Foley and Dorothy Ransford; brothers George, Emil, Arvo, Toivo and Lauri; sisters Irene and Martha; six grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.

The funeral service will be held at 1 p.m., Monday, March 19 at the Old Apostolic Lutheran Church in Marengo with Raymond and Randy Blakeman officiating. Visitation will also be held at the church from 6 p.m. until 8 p.m., Sunday, March 18 and on Monday from noon until 1 p.m. Spring interment will take place in the Highbridge Cemetery. The Roberts Funeral Home in Ashland is handling the arrangements.
