Mr. Delbert Michael Ring, 71, of Westfield, widower of Betty Jean Ring, passed away Friday, Dec. 23, 2005, at Stokes Reynolds Memorial Hospital in Danbury. He was born April 2, 1934, to John and Eulalia Ring in Surry County. He was retired as a truck driver for Beroth Oil Co.
Mr. Ring was preceded in death by his loving wife, Betty Jean Duncan, whom he married on June 10, 1953 in Long Hill, Surry County, NC; his parents, John and Eualia Ring; two brothers, Emory and Ernest Ring; and two sisters, Clara Mears and Ila Gunnell.
Mr. Ring is survived by a son, Phillip Ring; a daughter and son-in-law, Donna and Matt Richardson; two grandchildren, Megan Ring and Tanner Ring; and five sisters, Ruth McMillian, Rachel Snow, Dicie O'Neal, Maude O'Neal and Dorothy Tate.
The funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. today, Dec. 27, at Rock House Primitive Baptist Church, with Elder Vance Jones officiating. Interment will follow in the church cemetery. The family received friends from 6 to 8 Monday, Dec. 26, at Cox-Needham Funeral Home.
The Ring family is being served by Cox-Needham Funeral Home in Pilot Mountain.
