Funeral services were conducted here Monday afternoon in Zion Evangelical U.B. church for Mrs. Barbara Wagner, 91, who died at her home in Culbertson on Friday following a lingering illness. The church pastor, Rev. M.G. Braun, officiated at the services.

Singers for the funeral were Mrs. M.G. Braun and Mrs. Willard Rippen with Mrs. Carl Herman as organist.

Pallbearers were Donald Miller, Art Hawkinson, Dallas Wagner, Richard Wagner, Glenn Berndt, and James Screen. Burial was in the Culbertson cemetery under direction of the Herrmann funeral home of McCook.

Mrs. Maria Barbara Wagner was born October 24, 1865 in Frank, Russia and died August 23, 1957 at her home in Culbertson at the age of 91 years, 9 months, and 29 days.

She was married to George Wagner on February 2, 1888. They came to the United States the same year, locating first at Broomfield, Nebraska and in 1889 on a farm northeast of Culbertson where they lived for 42 years. They retired from the farm and moved to the village of Culbertson in 1931.

Mrs. Wagner and her husband were the parents of five sons and four daughters, all of whom survive. Mr. Wagner died February 4, 1940.

Survivors include five sons, Henry, William, Daniel, Arthur, and Albert, all of Culbertson; four daughters, Mrs. Caroline Fassler of Culbertson; Ida May Wagner of Twin Falls, Idaho; Mrs. Martha Miller and Mrs. Marie Koch, both of Culbertson; 24 grandchildren; and 10 great-grandchildren.
