By all accounts, the eldest Schick daughter was a “sassy” and smart child growing into a beautiful and clever teen. Studying, socializing, and dancing with her friends was status quo until meeting Ray Linsmeier Sr. Lorraine said he was “a very good dancer.”
The two were married in 1940. Mr. and Mrs. Linsmeier raised their seven children with unconditional love.
Throughout her life, Lorraine most enjoyed the frequent visits from family and friends. She and Ray enjoyed riding their ATVs and snowmobiles throughout their beautiful properties. Residing just past the road that bears her name, Lorraine entertained with familiar kitchen creations and a card game.
Lorraine enjoyed her local friends and a round of golf. She was a member of Holy Redeemer Catholic Church and enjoyed venturing out to Montana or the occasional party in Hollywood, CA. She was happy to earn citations for her work with the 4-H Ladies Auxiliary and American Cancer Society. Lorraine had a world-class smile and a “sassy” sharp wit.
Survivors include her children: Raymond Jr. (Bonnie) of Menominee, MI; James (Mary) of Iron Mountain, MI; Jean (Joseph) Truitt of Stephenson, MI; Nancy Christenson of Phoenix, Ariz. and Richard (Betty) of Menominee, MI; 17 grandchildren; 33 great-grandchildren; and 7 great-great-grandchildren.
Lorraine was preceded in death by her daughter, Sandra (d. 2009), and her son, John (d. 2012). She was also preceded in death by her husband, Ray Sr. (d. 1982); by her sister, Virginia “Sissy”; and four brothers: Edward, John, Gerald and Raymond.
Family will receive friends at HOLY REDEEMER CATHOLIC CHURCH on Wednesday, June 28th, 2017, after 9 am until time of Mass of Christian Burial at 11 am with Father Michael Ocran officiating. Burial will follow in Birch Creek Cemetery.
