WAGNER, JEANNE SCHNELL, passed away Saturday, February 11, 2012 in the Baptist Hospital East Palliative Care Unit.

She was the daughter of the late Thekla (Evers) and Edward B. Schnell.

Jeanne was retired as secretary-treasurer of Wagner Electric Co., past president of the St. Matthew's Women's Club, past member of the Homemakers Club, a member of St. Patrick Catholic Church and past member of the St. Patrick Leprechaun's. She graduated from Holy Cross School , Sacred Heart Academy and attended Ursuline College.

Before failing health slowed her, she relished traveling, time at the pool and especially boating with family. Her creative talents included arts and crafts, lavish holiday decorations, but shone brightest in the kitchen with buffets and parties worthy of "The Food Channel." An avid reader, Jeanne's favorite were mysteries. She enjoyed watching sports of any kind, was her twin sons' #1 fan and cheered her grandchildren on, as well. In addition to her life-long friends, Jeanne valued those made at her Horizon Bay Community home.

She is preceded in death by her husband, Joseph "JF" Wagner; and her beloved grandsons, Andy Wagner and Jarrett Mynear.

She is survived by her children, Christopher Wagner (Babs), Michael Wagner (Margaret), and Jennifer W. Mynear (Doug); brother, Edward Schnell; sisters, Mary George Smith (Chuck) and Patricia Harrison (Doug); five grandchildren, Tony, Jeff, Sarah, Kim and Claire; eight great-grandchildren; numerous nieces and nephews; and her grand-dogs, Izzy and Cowboy.

The family would like to thank her dear friend and caregiver, Gloria Hack, her many doctors and staff who cared for her over the years and in her final days at Baptist Hospital East.

To celebrate Jeanne's devotion to her faith, a funeral Mass will be held at 10 a.m. Wednesday at St. Patrick Catholic Church, 1000 N. Beckley Station Road, with burial in Calvary Cemetery. Visitation is 2-8 p.m. Tuesday, Pearson's, 149 Breckinridge Lane.

Memorial gifts may be made to Jarrett's Joy Cart, c/o Margaret Wagner, 15015 Bircham Road Louisville, KY, 40245
