Ted Boriack succumbs
Theodore (Ted) Walter Boriack, a long-time administrator with the Lodi Unified School District, died in his home Tuesday following a brief illness.
Mr. Boriack was 62.
A native of Texas, he came to California with his parents when he was an infant and grew up in Porterville. He maried Vera Boriak in 1946 in Terra Bella. The couple moved to Stockton where Mr. Boriack attended the University of the Pacific He graduated with degrees in business and education in 1950.
After graduating from UOP, he taught at Live Oak School for two years and held his first administrative position at the school. He went on to be an administrator at various elementary schools in the Lodi Unified School District and retired in 1979.
Upon retirement, he worked as a curriculum consultant and was involved with the district's Gifted and Talented Educational Program for several years. His wife said that he found the work with the GATE program very rewarding.
He served in the Marines from 1942 to 1946 and was involved with the Boy Scouts of America program for many years and was a member of St. Peter's Evangelical Lutheran Church in Lodi.
He is survived by his wife, Vera Boriack; two sons; one daughter; one sister, Arlene Faucett and five grandchildren.
