Johann Christian Bader was born 21 Sep 1805 in Muhlhausen Thuringe Germany to Benjamin Christoph & Johanna Dorothea (nee Demme) Bader. He left his homeland on 21 Apr 1834 and detailed that journey in a diary now in the possession of his GG granddaughter.
Johann married Maria Wilhelmine Carolina (nee Bullman) in Cleveland on 28 Jan 1837 and had a son, Karl Benjamin. Sadly both Maria and Karl died during a trip to St. Louis, MO. Johann was naturalized 01 Jul 1839 in Cleveland Ohio, and returned to his homeland one more time. Upon his return to Cleveland he married Dorothea (nee Orth) 07 Nov 1840 and settled in Brooklyn Ohio. Joahnn was well know in Brooklyn and was a blacksmith and a farmer. His oldest son Philip H. served in the Civil War and his youngest son George William left the legacy of "Bader Avenue" in Brooklyn. Johann (John) died 11 Dec 1888 and is buried in Brookmere with his wife and several children.
