Funeral services for Mrs. Earl Bernhagen, 73, of Spencer, were held Monday at 10:30 a.m. at the First English Lutheran Church. Pastor Ronald Meyer officiated.

Burial was in the North Lawn Cemetery.

Mrs. Bernhagen died September 19, at the Spencer Hospital.

Bearers; Floyd Nitzche, Lawrence Hansen, Neil Scoles, Ernest Hansen, Richard Lawrence and George Groen.

Mrs. Bernhagen was born December 22, 1901, in Marshall County, the daughter of Charles and Augusta (Meier) Pothast.

She married Earl Bernhagen on February 11, 1925 in Meadow Township.

She had lived in Spencer for the past 60 years and prior to that in Marshall County.

She was a member of the First English Lutheran Church.

Survivors include her husband, Earl; one son Ervin Earl Bernhagen of Fayetteville, Arkansas; one daughter, Mrs. Arlene Koenck of Spencer; eight grandchildren and three great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents and two brothers, Earl and Alvin Pothast.

The Warner Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
