Rev. Arthur M. Hoffmann, pastor of the German Congregational church, assisted by Rev. Martin G. Braun, officiated at the church services and the interment in the Culbertson cemetery. The Herrmann funeral home of McCook was in charge of the arrangements.
During the church service, Mrs. Everett Kern and Mrs. Wilbert Wagner, accompanied by Mrs. Dorsey Lehman, sang "Ivory Palaces" and "Abide With Me." Pallbearers were J.W. Wagner, Albert Wagner, Sol Wagner, William Wagner, Frank Wagner, and Amos Wagner.

Anna Gies, daughter of John and Katherine Wagner, was born in Frank, Russia on October 11, 1876 and passed away on September 22, 1952 at the age of 75 years, 11 months, and 11 days. She came to America with her parents in 1892.
In 1895 she was united in marriage to David Gies. They lived all of their married life on a farm north of Culbertson. To this union were born four children, two of whom preceded their mother in death.
She leaves to mourn her passing her husband, David, one daughter, Mrs. Anna Bell of McCook, one son, John of Culbertson, three grandchildren, one great-grandchild, and many other relatives and friends.
