Barbara Rea Castro, 74, passed away in Oklahoma City, OK, on May 8, 2014. Barbara was born on May 3, 1940 in Oklahoma City, Ok to Clayton and Myrtle (Childers) Franz, Sr. Barbara was known for her love of jewelry and enjoyed costume parties as well. She was a church member and also had held a Bible study in her home since moving to Oklahoma City. She loved children which was evident by her years of teaching pre-school kids and being a foster parent for several years. Barbara also enjoyed crocheting. She is survived by 2 sisters, Lois (Nadine) Ballenger and husband Bob and Jewell Wilson and husband Jack; 3 brothers, Clayton Franz, Jr. and wife Dorothy Jean, James Jonathan Franz and wife Rachel, and Thomas Henry Franz; 2 sons, Daniel B. Castro and William J. Castro; and a host of nieces, nephews, and other loving family members and friends. Barbara is preceded in death by her parents; husband, Daniel Lloyd Castro; and son, Mateo Castro. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM, Thursday, May 15, 2014 at the John Ireland Funeral Home Chapel, 120 S Broadway, Moore, Ok. Interment will be at Rose Hills Cemetery in Whitier, CA. Services are under the direction of John Ireland Funeral Home.
