Brown County native Phyllis A. Meier died Saturday afternoon, January 16, 1999, at Methodist Hospital in Indianapolis. A resident of North Vernon, she was 64.
Mrs. Meier was born September 2, 1934, in Brown County to Burl and Mildred McGee Percifield. She and Ephraim R. Meier were married July 23, 1978. He died May 16, 1992.
Mrs. Meier was retired from United Way of Bartholomew County. She had been a former Girl Scout leader.
Survivors include a son, Darrel Foist of Columbus; two daughters, Dianne Browne and Carol Hurst, both of Columbus; a brother, Lee Percifield of North Vernon; a sister, Judy Russell of Brown County; six grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.
Mrs. Meier was preceded in death by two sisters.
Pastor Fred Harrison will lead a service today, January 20, at Barkes, Inlow and Weaver Funeral Home in Columbus. Burial was in Bartholomew County's St. Paul Lutheran Church Cemetery.
