Wife of the writer and poet Eduard Mörike and the mother of their daughters Fanny and Marie. The Mörikes' marriage was not happy, and they separated. Margarethe spent the last years of her life with her daughter Fanny in Neu-Ulm, where the Margarethenweg at Kollmannspark has been named in her honor.
