Charles Earl Singleton, 62, of Belington, died, Sunday, May 18, 2014, at his home. He had a number of health issues but his death was unexpected.
He was born August 16, 1951, at Galloway, a son of the late Charles Raymond and Dora May (Thomas) Singleton.
On July 18, 1973, he married the former Dottie Lou Bohon, who survives at Belington.
Also surviving are two daughters, Wanda Jean Sturm and Phyllis Dora Akers and companion, Tony Skidmore, all of Belington; one son, Donald Earl Singleton and fiancé, Brandi, Elkins; two sisters, Judith Ann Buchanan, Saucier, Miss., Dora Ellen Bertamini, Mill Creek; four brothers, Ira Andrew Singleton, Hagerstown, Md., Billy Don Singleton, Romney, Frederick Paul Singleton and Dennis James Singleton, both of Teter Lake Community; twelve grandchildren, Robert Allen Akers, Samantha Nicole Kaleiwahea, Tyler McCauley Akers, Ashley Jade Kaleiwahea, Brittany Marie Singleton, Destinie Dawn Singleton, Brooklyn Michaela Sturm, Kaleb Jace Akers, Donald Earl Singleton Jr., Tory Lynn Canfield, Hunter Michael Singleton and Zoey Leeann Canfield.
He was also preceded in death by one brother, Gilbert Lee Singleton.
Mr. Singleton worked in furniture and appliance delivery for Alkire's Appliance and Furniture Store. He enjoyed working on anything broken and it is said that he "could fix anything." He enjoyed his family especially his grandchildren and fishing.
Funeral services will be conducted at1:00 P.M. on Thursday, May 22, from the Stemple & Forman Funeral Home, 385 South Main Street, Philippi. Pastor F. Howard Swick will officiate and interment will follow in the Joseph Chapel Cemetery.
Friends may call at the funeral home from 2:00 until 9:00 P.M. on Wednesday and from 9:00 A.M. until 1:00 P.M., the funeral hour, on Thursday.
The Stemple & Forman Funeral Home was entrusted with arrangements.
