Doris Elizabeth Woodin, age 92 years of Midland, died Tuesday morning at Brookdale Senior Living, Clare Bridge House. She was born August 8, 1921 in Remus, the daughter of the late George and Isabelle (May) Stadtfeld.

On April 9, 1942 she married Ralph G. Woodin in Mecosta County and he preceded her in death on February 17, 2009. Doris was an avid bowler and gardener. She enjoyed spending time with her family and looked forward to time she spent with her late husband, traveling, hunting, and fishing.

She is survived by her daughters: Lynda Otey (Frank Kodrick), Susan Soper (Tom Madden) , all of Midland and Karen Husted of Escanaba; grandchildren: Gordon (Tammy) Otey of Midland, Stephen Otey (Linda Castro) of Caledonia, Michelle (Jeremy) Redlin of Jordan MN, Tiffany (Ernie) Strong of Lansing, Ashley Husted (Dan Jackson) of Las Vegas NV, Aaron (Alexis) Husted also of Las Vegas NV, Jacob Husted (Sarah Gerou)of Escanaba; great grandchildren: Morgan Watz, Jessica Otey and Joe Castro, Gavin and Garrett Redlin, Addisyn Strong, Logan Gerou, Kinslee Husted, Adalynn and Deagan Husted; and by many nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents and husband, Doris was preceded in death by her brothers: Walter, Bernard, Vernon, and Ervin Stadtfeld and sisters Grace Voisenette and Helen Heckart.

Funeral services for Doris will take place at 11:00 a.m. Friday, May 23, 2014 from the Ware-Smith-Woolever Funeral Home, 1200 West Wheeler Street. Pastor David Mulder of the Homer United Methodist Church will officiate with burial in Homer Township. Doris's family will receive friends at the funeral home on Friday from 9 a.m. until the time of service. Those planning an expression of sympathy are asked to consider the Alzheimer's Association or MidMichigan Home Care.
