Ann Schwartzkopf Wolski, 85, of Gering, Neb., passed away April 21, 2008, at her home. Her funeral services were held on April 25 at the Zion Evangelical Church in Scottsbluff, Neb. Interment will follow at the Fairview Cemetery. Ann was born April 9, 1923, at Worland, Wyo., to David and Katherine (Meier) Reichert. She lived there with her family for a short time before moving to Gering, where she received her early education. She then moved to a farm north of Scottsbluff, where she attended and graduated from Sunflower High School. In January 1942 she married John Schwartzkopf Jr. in Torrington, and to this union seven children were born.The family lived and farmed in various areas of Goshen County until 1951. The family then moved to the Scottsbluff-Gering area, where Ann worked as a waitress at the Elks Lodge and the Moose Lodge and also worked at Gra-Mar Manor and Bel-Air Manor nursing homes. On Oct. 2, 1977, she married Arthur F. Wolski in Gering. She and Art lived in Torrington, and he preceded her in death in 1997. She returned to Gering in 2000. Ann loved to cook, quilt, tend to her garden and watch sports, especially baseball. Her favorite teams were the Colorado Rockies and the Denver Broncos. Ann was a great teacher and giver of unconditional love. She was noted for her wonderful hugs and "oooh aaahs." Ann was a faithful supporter of her children's activities and took great delight in seeing all of her family succeed in all of their endeavors. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; her daughter, Judith Annette Schwartzkopf; her twin brother, Henry Reichert; two brothers, Dave Reichert and Jack Reichert; one sister, Mary Specht; and numerous nieces and nephews.
