A 95-Year-Old St. Marys woman has surprised family, friends and doctors by her amazing recovery from major surgery in a Topeka hospital this week.
Mrs. Tom Cooper played pitch with friends the night before the operation and really didn't seem worried, although she was the oldest person to whom the anesthetist had ever administered a general anesthetic.
Later in the evening after the operation, the doctor stopped by her hospital room to see how she was feeling. Mrs. Cooper was sitting up in bed.
"How are you," he asked.
"I'm just fine," she answered, "but where you cut me hurts like Hell."
