He is survived by the mother of his children Karen Dlouhy, three daughters; Kirbi (Joey) Woods, Kelli (Eddie) Murillo, and Kelbi Dlouhy; grandkids Kourtney Woods (Turtle), Aaron & Xavier Murillo, and Adyson Coffman; his great grandkids are Yesenia Martinez, Dominick Hartman, and Izsac Gonzalez; his siblings Sandra Montoya-Leaf of Virginia, Patricia Dusek of Temple, Nancy (John) Stacy of Taylor; Bobby (Vanita) Dlouhy of Houston, Marilyn Wilson of Morgan's Point Resort, Randell (Tina) Dlouhy of Taylor, Sherri Dlouhy of Morgan's Point Resort, Darwin Dlouhy of Taylor, and Sheila Dlouhy of Round Rock; aunt Charlene Mueller of Chriesman; mother-in-law Joyce Klotz of Coupland; In-laws Linda Lou Dlouhy of Taylor, Doreen (Robert) Streit of Coupland, Neva Klotz of Taylor, Darwin Klotz of Coupland, and Wendel Klotz; Step-grandchild Ashlie Woods and her son Damon; as well as numerous extended family members and friends.

Bennie was a lover of people; he never met a stranger anywhere he went! He knew how to have a good time whether it was going on trail rides with his daughters, derby races at the Balusek farm, or riding around checking on crops and cows. His ability to tell and create stories was uncanny. Some would say he was a professional bull shitter. The catch phrases he would come up with were both funny and remarkable. He always said his physique was his million dollar project, over worked, under paid, and still under construction.

Bennie loved his three girls very much and always had to do roll call before he got the right name for the right kid. He always called and requested songs for them to play on the radio for their birthdays. Before he would call Kelli & Kelbi, he would have to call Karen to make sure he had the right daughter for the right February birthdays as Kelli was 2/6 and Kelbi was 2/8. This year though, was the first year that he called the correct daughter on the correct date and said the correct name. We were so proud of him…..it only took 35 years (Kelbi's age)!!!!!

He attended Taylor School and only went to class when he felt like it. He played football in the 8th grade and Scott Wilkerson said, " Bennie was the best tight end he ever had!" He also dabbled in FFA, showing sheep around the same time. Bennie also loved volunteering with the Taylor Volunteer Fire Department for 25 plus years. During this time he took part in countless pumper races and building the mud run tracks in Circleville.

Bennie's life passion was BBQ cook-offs; he cooked for over 30 years and was part of several different teams including: Russell's Used Cars, Sugar's, Under the Influence, and recently was helping his nephew Cody's team, D & K cookers. Many knew his alter ego "Geraldine". She wore a little tight red dress, blonde hair, and yellow sunhat and she would make cook-off appearances occasionally. Cookers didn't need an alarm clock in the morning; Bennie would make his rounds with a bull horn waking up all the campers. Women may also remember Bennie's "special" placement of stickers positioned gently, with a tap of love.

Bennie was a huge NASCAR fan; Rusty Wallace and Dale Earnhardt being his favorite drivers. If there was a race on he would be watching, and if you walked into his house it sounded like you were at the track. Every TV would be on so if he had to walk to another room he wouldn't miss a thing. Additionally, he loved watching professional rodeos and any and all westerns. He never missed a show of Andy Griffith and they were just as exciting, the many times over he had seen them, as the first.

When Bennie's first granddaughter, Kourtney, was born and he went to see her for the first time, he was holding her and she was trying to hold her head up….he said "look at her, she looks like a little turtle!" The name stuck and she was his Turtle from that day on. Many of his friends didn't even know she had a different name cause all they heard him say was Turtle this and Turtle that. Then when Turtle was learning to talk and names of everyone, all she heard was Bennie this and Bennie that, so he became "her Bennie!!!" And the rest of the kids called him their Bennie….because he wasn't your ordinary grandpa. These last couple of years it was harder for him to get around, but he had most of his grandkids playing sports. So he would call his girls weekly to see who was playing when and what fields. If they played on the fields close to handicapped parking, their Bennie would sit in his truck and watch them play and talk BS to the passerbys. After the games the kids would go and thank him for coming to their game. Bennie had extreme talents as well, although he doesn't hold any official records, most recognize him for his pissin' abilities. Some were lucky to witness him peein' over a truck into a gutter without missing a drop. He too, was an amazing dancer, for a big guy he sure knew how to move with the ladies. When he danced, you could feel the soul and rhythm of the song by the way he moved.

The family would like to sincerely thank the Taylor Ems and Fire Department, Taylor Scott & White ER and staff, and Seton Williamson ICU and staff for their kindness and compassion while Bennie was in their care.

In the words of Don Beardon "Although there is sadness felt by all whose life Bennie had touched right now, there have been some folks waiting for him to get up there and ‘stoke' that heavenly fire. Bennie will forever be missed by all!"
