Fran was born April 19, 1935, in Hampton, Iowa, to Orville and Marie (Graper) Jones. In 1952 she was united in marriage to James W. Lingbeck in Hampton. He preceded her in death on July 23, 1998. Fran worked many years at the Red Owl Country Store. She painted in her spare time at Riverland Community College and taught Italic writing there part time. Fran was a dog groomer for many years, she loved to bowl and play cards. She had a love for birds and flowers of all kinds.
Fran loved her daughters and grandchildren deeply and she was a big inspiration to all she knew and met. She made many friends while at her stay at St. Mark's and will be greatly missed.
Survivors include her daughters, sons-in-law, grandchildren and great grandchildren: Becky and Gary Josephson, Heather and Dustin, Austin; Diana and Norbert Otterbein, Crystal and Jamie, and Haylee, Austin; Katie, Turrell, and Lisa Janning, and Isaac; cousin and her children: Elizabeth "Sis" Ferguson and Dwight, Terry and Rick.
She is preceded in death by her husband, James "Bud" Lingbeck; daughter, Debi M. Janning; parents, Orville and Marie Jones.
Funeral services will be held at 1:30 p.m. Thursday, June 23, 2005, at the Church of Christ with Pastor Dave DeFor officiating. Friends may call one hour before the service at the church on Thursday. Interment will be in Oakwood Cemetery.
The casket bearers will be Gary Josephson, Norbert Otterbein, Dustin Josephson, Mike Silva, Norman Otterbein and Terry Ferguson.
