Garden City -- Kate Wigner, 92, homemaker, died May 20, 1985 at St. Catherine Hospital, Garden City. Born Kate Lechman March 28, 1893 at Topeka.


She married George Wigner Sr. Jan. 9, 1918 at Pueblo, Colo. He died Dec. 29, 1963.


She had been a resident of Garden City since 1920. Member of St. Mary's Catholic Church, Christian Mothers, Altar Society, all of Garden City.


Survivors: sons, Joe of Pueblo, Colo., Frank and George Jr. of Garden City, John Laverne of Seattle, Wash.; daughters, Ann Mader and Margaret Brady of Garden City; sisters, Barbara Roeske and Betty Larson of Chicago, Marge Dowd of Hartford, Conn.; 30 grandchildren; 32 great-grandchildren; three great-great-grandchildren.


Funeral 10:30 a.m. Thursday, both at St. Mary's Catholic Church, Father Joe Long; burial Valley View Cemetery. Parish rosary 7:30 p.m. Wednesday at the church. Garnand Funeral Home, Garden City. Memorial has been established with St. Mary's Catholic Church.
