Henry A. Sorg was born in Lester, Iowa August 9, 1895, the son of Philip and Ida (Klein) Sorg. He attended school in Lester, Iowa and graduated from high school in Pillager, Minnesota. Henry married Marion Juergens on August 26, 1920 in Minneapolis, Minnesota. The Sorg's lived in Osakis, Minnesota prior to their move to Alexandria, Minnesota where he was employed as a rural mail carried until the early 1960s. Henry was a member of the First Congregational United Church of Christ and the Masonic Lodge of Osakis.
Mr. Sorg died at the Knute Nelson Memorial Home on August 1, 1982. He is survived by two grandsons, Blaine C. Burdick III of Minneapolis, Minnesota; Brian H. Burdick of Minneapolis, Minnesota; two sisters, Mrs. Hans (Adeline) Andersen of Cushing, Minnesota; Mrs. Dorothy LaRose of Ironton, Minnesota; two brothers, John F. Sorg of Rice Lake, Wisconsin; Albert A. Sorg of Ironton, Minnesota. Henry was preceded in death by his wife, one daughter and two brothers.
Funeral services were held August 4, 1982, at First Congregational United Church of Christ with Rev. Scott R. Keehn officiating. Pallbearers were John Hedine, Lloyd Johnson, Dale Anderson, Tom LaRose, Marvin Bodeker and Delmore Gustafson. Interment was at Evergreen Cemetery, Alexandria, Minnesota. Services directed by Alexandria Funeral Home.
