Paul Leo Bohen was the oldest of two sons born to Paul and Florence Lechner-Bohen.

He went to Sacramento City College and while attending college lived with his uncle and aunt Leo and Florence Lechner in Sacramento. He served in the United States Army during WWII, and was stationed on Guam assigned to breaking Japanese code.

He married Bette C. Martin in Monterey, California on December 30, 1950. They had two daughters. Paul and Bette divorced in April 1969.

Paul remarried marrying Beverly Jane Doughty-Turchet on January 14, 1977, in Los Angeles, California. He died in Napa at the age of 62 eight days short of his 63rd birthday.

Paul L. Bohen, 63, died Sunday at Queen of the Valley Hospital after a long illness.

Mr. Bohen was born in Napa on the Bohen Ranch, graduated from St. John's Catholic School and from Napa High School in 1939. After graduating from Sacramento Junior College he went to work at Basalt Rock Co.

He served in the U.S. Army from 1942 until December of 1945 and his discharge, returned to Basalt and worked as an electrician. He joined Kaiser Corp. when it purchased the Basalt pipe plant in 1955 and in 1965, becoming purchasing agent and expeditor in Kaiser Steel's Oakland office. Mr. Bohen retired on Nov. 1, 1977. He enjoyed duck hunting and fishing.

He was predeceased by one brother, Roy Bohen, who was killed in World War II.

Mr. Bohen is survived by his wife, Beverly of Napa; two daughters, Paula Johns Grass Valley and Janet Bohen of San Francisco; one step-son, Ronald J. Turchet of Hayward; one step-granddaughter, Barbara J. Gardener of Seattle, Wash.; one granddaughter and one step-granddaughter.

Friends are invited to attend funeral service Tuesday at 10 a.m. with Father Albert Tittiger officiating at the chapel of Richard Pierce Funeral Service. Interment will follow at Tulocay Cemetery.

The family suggests memorial contributions to Queen of the Valley Hospital Foundation.

Casketbearers will be Robert T. Handel, Lee Chestnutt, Walter J. Fogarty Jr., James G. Carson, N.D., Ernest L. Illsley, Clarence N. Shurtleff, Robert J. Gianelli, and Edmond F. Brovelli Jr.
