Walter Kem, 84, of Lodi died Jan 14 after a long illness. He was born in Grand Island, Neb.
He lived in Grand Island until entering the U.S. Navy in the 1930s. He served tours overseas during World War II and the Korean War.
After retiring from the Navy, Mr. Kehm moved to Southern California and worked for McDonnell-Douglas Corporation in Torrance until retiring in 1971. He moved to Concord in 1973 and Lodi in 1977.
He was a member of American Legion Post 22 in Lodi.
Mr. Kehm was preceded in death by a daughter, Judith Caughlin, three brothers and a sister.
He is survived by his wife of 58 years, Nola Kehm of Lodi; a son; a sister, Lydia Speck; four grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.
