Jerry Nova Saul Sr., age 68 of Sioux City, IA passed away on Saturday, February 26, 2011 at the Matneys Colonial Manor in Sioux City, IA. Funeral services will be 10:00 AM, Wednesday, March 2, 2011 at the Oyate Oyanke Community Center, Santee, NE. Visitations will begin at 8 PM on Sunday, February 27, 2011 at the Oyate Oyanke Community Center and continue until the time of the service on Wednesday. Prayer service will be held on Sunday at 8 PM and Monday and Tuesday evenings at 7 PM at the Community Center. Opsahl-Kostel Funeral Home and Crematory, Yankton is in charge of the arrangements.
Jerry Nova Saul Sr. was born on December 5, 1942 to Harry Kelly Saul and Mary Louise Campbell in Bloomfield, NE.
Jerry enjoyed mechanics and going to the casino.
He has eight children, 24 grandchildren and four great grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Ramona Wilke-Saul; son, Patrick Saul; one sister, Maxine Wabasha; two brothers, Glenn Saul, Joseph Saul and his parents.
He is survived by his children, Jeremiah (Lori) Saul, Sioux City, IA; Liz Saul-Brandt (Seymour), Santee, NE; Glenn (Alexis) Saul, Yankton, SD; Jerry Jr. (Thalia) Saul, Black River Falls, WI; Joy Saul-Rave, Kelly Tecalero, Barry Saul, all of Madison, WI and one grandson he raised, Aaron (Ariell) Saul, Black River Falls, WI; one brother, John "Percy" Big Eagle; two sisters, Leona Faye Davis and Delma Saul, all of Sioux City, IA.
Pallbearers are DeWayne Wabasha, Fred Davis Jr., Dawson Big Eagle, Phillip Johnson Jr., Seymour Brandt, and Eugene Saul Sr. Honorary pallbearers are all his grandchildren and great grandchildren.
