Sophia L. Braman, 82, of R.D. 4, Bedford, died Tuesday morning, December 22, 1987, at her home. She was born August 5, 1905 in Bedford, a daughter of the late James A. and Margaret A. (Beemiller) Heming. On September 7, 1924(note the date should be Sept, 9, 1924)she married Stanley T. Braman who preceded her in death on March 28, 1970. Surviving are the following children: Margaret J., wife of Warren Bollinger, Cumberland, Md.; Lawrence A., of Baltimore, Md.; Vincent S., married to the former Marion Thompson, of Bedford R.D. 6; Benedict J., married to the former Alonda Scritchfield, of Manns Choice; Catherine E., wife of James A. Harris, of Cumberland, Md., Gemma L. Baker, of Bedford; and Christina E., wife of Michael H. Wilson, of Bedford.
Twenty-seven grandchildren and 25 great-grandchildren also survive along with the following brothers and sisters: Lenore Grabenstein, of Cumberland, Md.; Mary Imgrund, of Bedford; Irvin Heming, of Bedford, R.D. 6; Genevieve Heming, of Garvey Manor, Hollidaysburg; Gertrude Kimberlin, of Cumberland, Md.; and L. Max Heming, of Houston, Texas.
She was preceded in death by two brothers and one sister. Mrs. Braman was a member of St. Thomas Catholic Church of Bedford, and the Catholic Daughters of America. Mass of Christian Burial: Thursday, December 24, at 10 a.m. from St. Thomas Catholic Church, Bedford with Father Raymond G. Crosser officiating. Burial in St. Thomas Catholic Cemetery. Friends will be received at Timothy A. Berkebile Funeral Home in Bedford, on Wednesday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m., where a Wake Service will be held at 4 p.m. Expressions of sympathy may be made to your favorite charity.
