Loretta (Thielen) Zastrow, age 94 Cold Spring January 6, 1913 – September 27, 2007 Mass of Christian Burial will be 10:30 a.m. Monday, October 1, 2007 at St. Boniface Catholic Church in Cold Spring, MN for Loretta (Thielen) Zastrow, age 94, who died Thursday at the Assumption Nursing Home. Burial will be in the Sts. Peter & Paul Parish Cemetery, Richmond. Relatives and friends may call after 4:00 p.m. Sunday and from 9:00 – 10:00 a.m. Monday at the Wenner Funeral Home in Cold Spring. The Catholic Order of Foresters, Catholic Aid Association, Christian Women and St. Julian Mission Group will pray a rosary at 4:30 p.m. and Parish Prayers will be at 7:30 p.m. Sunday evening. Loretta was born in St. Martin, MN to Herman and Gertrude (Toenies) Pohlman. She married Frank Thielen on November 27, 1934. He died on December 12, 1960. Loretta then married Michael Zastrow on August 3, 1965. Loretta was a cook at the Rich Spring Golf Course, an adult care provider, babysitter and mink flesher. She enjoyed quilting, baking apple pies, canning pickles and spending time with her family and friends. She was a member of St. Boniface Parish, Christian Women, Catholic Order of Foresters, Catholic Aid Association, St. Julian Mission Group, St. John's Mission Group, the Ladies of the Moose and the Cold Spring Senior Citizens. Survivors include her children, Arnold (Arliss) Thielen, Martha Schmitz, Dorrine Schreifels, Herbert (Kathy) Thielen, Mary (Larry) Green; son-in-law, Milton Monson; step-children, Jim Zastrow and Jerry Zastrow; sister, Elizabeth Boeckers; brother, Raymond (Mildred) Pohlman; 15 grandchildren; 26 great-grandchildren and 10 great-great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husbands, Frank Thielen and Michael Zastrow; parents; son, Joseph Thielen; daughter, Bernadette Monson; son-in-law, Clarence Schmitz; brother, Norbert Pohlman and sister, Margaret Fisher.
