Carl F. Dinkelacker, 83, formerly of Drums, a resident of the St. Luke Pavilion the past several years, died Thursday at that facility.
Born in Drums, he was the son of the late George W. and Julia A. (Smith) Dinkelacker, and, until entering the nursing facility, he had spent his entire life in Drums.
He was a member of St John's Lutheran Church, St Johns; the Drums Buntonbock Club, and the Greater Hazleton Historical Society.
Until his retirement in 1974, he operated Dinkelacker's Service Station at the Drums Crossroads, a business that was previously run by his father.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by five brothers, Howard, Walter, Ambrose, Paul, Harold, and one sister, Mabel A. Snyder.
He was the last surviving member of his immediate family.
Surviving are several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held Sunday at 5 pm from the St John's Lutheran Church, St Johns, with the Rev Joseph Scholtes, pastor, conducting the services. Interment will be in St. John's Cemetery.
Friends may call at the krapf and Hughes Funeral Home Inc, 426 W Broad St, Hazleton, Saturday from 7 to 9 pm and at the church Sunday 4:30 until time of service.
Memorials to charity of one's choice or to St John's Lutheran Church, St Johns, are welcomed by the family.
