BROKEN BOW — Lorraine A. Scott, 83, of Broken Bow, formerly of Ansley, died Wednesday, July 23, 2014, at Jennie Melham Memorial Medical Center in Broken Bow.
Services will be at 10 a.m. Monday at St. Joseph's Catholic Church in Broken Bow with the Rev. Hugh Spanel officiating. Burial will be at Ansley Cemetery. Govier Bros. Mortuary in Broken Bow is in charge of the arrangements
She was born July 1, 1931, in rural Sargent to Frank and Barbara (Slegel) Brim.
On May 18, 1959, she married Ralph Scott in Sargent. He preceded her in death.
Survivors include her sons and daughters-in-law, Jerry and Diane and Jim and Shelly, all of Broken Bow; daughters and sons-in-law, Judy and James Moore of Kearney, Jill and Shane Rohde of Mason City and Joan Scott of Indianapolis; grandchildren, Nikki, Noel and Nathan Scott, Matthew and Cameron Moore, Skylar, Siera and Landon Rohde, and Krisha, Kailyn and Kya Scott; and many nieces and nephews.
She attended Roe Grove Rural School as a child and graduated from Sargent High School in 1948. Lorraine worked at Reier Department Store and the Sargent Bank.
Ralph and Lorraine danced and dated at Oscar's Palladium and National Hall. They made their home and raised their children in Ansley.
She enjoyed following her children and grandchildren in their activities. Lorraine loved to cook, sew and care for her family. She will be remembered for her chicken and noodles and mashed potatoes. Lorraine was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Ansley and St. Joseph's Catholic Church in Broken Bow. She was a member of American Legion Auxiliary 153.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 47 years; her parents; sisters, Rosie Chalupa and Alice Chalupa; and brother, Frank Brim.
