In 1841 Jane was living with her mother and siblings: Christian Christie (50) shipmaster's wife, Jane (20), Margaret (11), George (9) and her grandmother Jane Innes (80).
Jane married Duncan Cameron Sr on 8.11.1845 in Foveran. They went on to have 6 children:
John Christie Cameron (Oct 1846 - Jul 1891),
Andrew Christie Cameron (Aug 1849 - Jun 1892),
Isabella Rait Cameron (Feb 1853 - Nov 1947),
Jane Christie Cameron (Aug 1855 - Oct 1889),

George Christie Cameron (Dec 1859 - 1909).
Jane went on to adopt another girl when her husband passed - Amelia Hyland (1865-1954).

In 1861 the family were living at 14 Virginia Street, Aberdeen: Jane Cameron (40) head of house, merchant servant's wife, John (14) ship carpenter, Andrew (12), Isabella (9) scholar, Jane (5) and Duncan (1).
In 1865 Jane lost her husband Duncan.
In 1871 the family were living at 44 Regent Quay, Aberdeen: Jane Cameron (50) Head of house, Spirit Dealer, Andrew (20), Isabella (18), Duncan (10), George (7) along with Isaac Barnett (19), Alex Irvine (34) and Jane Christie (16).
In 1881 the family were still at this address but it was now listed as a Hotel! Jane Cameron (60) widow / Public House Keeper, George (18) apprentice joiner, Amelia Hyland (14 - adopted daughter), Andrew Cameron (31) seaman, his wife: Mary (25) and their children: Andrew (1) and Mary (3 months) along with a servant named Isabella Whitton (14) who later went on to marry Jane's son George Christie Cameron - they married in America and came back to live in Scotland.
In 1891 Jane (70) was living at 36 James Street, Aberdeen as a Spirit Dealer and Head of the house. Living with her was Ann Cruickshank (17).
Jane died age 74 and is buried in St Clements Kirkyard along with her husband, Duncan Cameron - stone 522.
