Dom Burkhard Gottfried Neunheuser, O.S.B., was a Catholic priest, educator, and a Benedictine monk of the Abbey of Maria Laach. He earned his doctorate in 1930, and for many years he taught Sacred Theology at the International Benedictine College of Sant'Anselmo in Rome, where he was Professor Emeritus and Dean of The Pontifical Liturgical Institute from 1972-1977. He was an expert in the Mystery Theology of his confrere Dom Odo Casel O.S.B. , and the author of numerous books and articles. In 1993, he was honored by the German Liturgical Institute for his lifetime achievement in education, and died shortly before his 100th birthday.
