OTHELLO, Wash. - Wilma Marie Koelzer, 82 passed away Wednesday November 17, 2011, at Kadlec Medical Center following a stroke. She was born December 14, 1928, in Seneca, KS to parents Louis and Margaret Roeder. She graduated in 1946 from Sts. Peter and Paul Schools. She married James Ambrose Koelzer on June 4, 1951, and then in 1965, they moved to Othello, WA with their three children, Glenda, Timothy, and Galen.
In Washington, they homesteaded a farm in Othello and raised their three children. In April 1976 James passed away from pulmonary edema. Wilma was a devout Catholic, member of the Roaring 20's Ladies Club, avid quilt maker, enthusiastic card player, and a baseball and sports fan.
Wilma was preceded in death by her parents Louis and Margaret, brother Donnie, and husband James. She is survived by daughter Glenda and husband Jerry Schultejans (Seneca, KS), son Timothy and wife Terry Koelzer (Burbank, WA), and son Galen Koelzer (Othello, WA). She will be remembered, missed, and thought of lovingly by her grandchildren; Carrie and Aaron Young (Seneca, KS), Kimberly and John Howard (Topeka, KS), Jamie Koelzer and Jeremy Robbins (Benton City, WA), Sean Koelzer (Othello, WA), Stacy and Charlie Bradshaw (Burbank, WA), Kaitlin Koelzer (Scottsdale, AZ), Curt and Kimberly Schultejans (Seneca, KS), Madison Koelzer (Othello, WA), Robert Koelzer (Burbank, WA), and Alexandra Koelzer (Walla Walla, WA). She was blessed to have been present in the lives of her greatgrandchildren; Lacie and Will Young (Seneca, KS), Mckenzie Howard (Topeka, KS), Callie Schultejans (Seneca, KS), and Kylie Koelzer (Kennewick, WA) and brothers Ray and John Roeder (KS).
Her love will be felt for eternity by her family and friends. She will never be forgotten and her presence will be felt by all those whose lives she touched and changed. She has been released from her body so she can live for eternity in our thoughts, hopes, dreams, and can return to her true love in the kingdom of heaven.
Rosary and viewing will be held November 20, 2011 at 5:00 p.m. at St. Paul's Catholic Church in Eltopia, WA. Services will be held at St. Paul's Catholic Church, November 21, 2011 at 10:00 a.m. with Father Pedro officiating. Interment will follow at the Bess Hampton Memorial Cemetery in Othello, WA.
