Barbara A. Wandschneider, Deer River, died Wednesday, July 31, 2002, at Itasca Medical Center, Grand Rapids.

She was born Aug. 7, 1921, in Sauk Rapids to Alvah and Anna (Mouske) Seeber. She moved with her family to Grand Rapids in 1927 and graduated from Grand Rapids High School in 1939.

She was united in marriage to Walt Wandschneider on April 12, 1958 in Grand Rapids. She lived in Lengby and worked at the Fosston Hospital. She moved to Deer River in 1975 and worked at the former North Star Clinic in Grand Rapids until she retired. She was a board member for the Deer River Food Bank, past president of the Deer River Women's Avenue of Pines Lion's Club and an active member of the American Cancer Society, all in Deer River. She also was a member of First Evangelical Lutheran Church, Grand Rapids. She enjoyed playing bridge and golf.

She is survived by her husband, Walt; a son, David (Barbara), Lengby; two sisters, Miriam Mary (Lloyd) Metzger, Grand Rapids, and Frieda "Tudy" Pumputis, Muscatine, Iowa; a brother, Leon (Dorothy) Seeber, Bloomington; a sister-in-law, Joan Seeber, Grand Rapids; two grandchildren, Jeff and Cole Wandschneider; and numerous nieces and nephews who greatly loved Auntie Barb.

Preceding her in death were her parents and a brother, Alvah Seeber.

Memorials are preferred to First Evangelical Lutheran Church or Itasca Hospice.

Services: Saturday, Aug. 10, at 11 a.m. at First Evangelical Lutheran Church, Grand Rapids, with the Rev. Michael L. Eckert officiating. Visitation is from 10 a.m. until the service.

Burial: Trinity Lutheran Cemetery, Sauk Rapids.
