Husband of Louise Schirrmacher Dissmer. Son of Hermann Friedrich and Elenore Dissmer of Bremen, Germany. Charlie was a member of the observation corps, using hot air balloons and telegraph wires, in the German Army in the early 20th century. His first wife was Marie Anna Martha Lauben, with whom he immigrated to the USA in 1922.
