Services for Anna G. Heinen, 88, Seneca, Kan., were Wednesday, Dec. 27, at Sts. Peter & Paul Church, Seneca. Burial was in the church cemetery.
Mrs. Heinen died Sunday, Dec. 24, 2000, at Crestview Manor Care Home in Seneca.
She was born May 16, 1912, on a farm east of Kelly, Kan., the daughter of Anton and Gertrude Lierz Kohake. She attended Maple Shade Country School and St. Bede's School and helped onthe family farm. Anna's mother died when she was 16 and Anna, the oldest and only girl, helped care for and raise her seven brothers. She also worked as a cook at Crestview Manor from 1970-1979.
Her husband, Lambert Heinen, preceded her in death in 1968.
Besides her husband, she was preceded in death by a son, Kenneth Heinen on Sept. 13, 1998, a granddaughter, Cindy Heinen, on May 4, 1989, and six brothers, Ernest, Carl, Anthony, Cyril, George and Albert Kohake.
Survivors include four sons, Donald Heinen of Kennewick, Wash., Melvin Heinen of Seneca, Verness Heinen of Tonganoxie, and Mark Heinen of Basehor; a daughter, Lola Otting of Bonner Springs; a brother, John Kohake of Shawnee; 24 grandchildren and 46 great grandchildren.
