She had lived in Antioch for over 20 years, and had attended the Chain of Lakes Community Bible Church of Lake Villa. Mary enjoyed bingo, tending her flower pots, socializing and going out to eat. She was devoted to her family being a loving and understanding mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. In 2002 she retired after 17 years of service in the housekeeping department at Libertyville Manor.
On May 9, 1950 she married Leland "Lee" Robinson in Booneville, MS, and he preceded her in death on September 11, 2004.
Survivors include her children, Sandy Guntharp of Volo, IL; Robbie (Julie) of Fox Lake, IL, and Wayne (Ellen) of Spring Grove, IL; 15 grandchildren; and 25 great-grandchildren; and many close nieces, nephews and good friends.
In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by her son-in-law, Greg; and three brothers, Ralph, Hershel and John Cartwright.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM Tuesday, August 12, 2008 at the Chain of Lakes Community Bible Church, 43 W. Grass Lake Rd., Lake Villa, IL with interment to follow in Highland Memorial Park, Libertyville, IL. Visitation will be held from 4:00 PM until 8:00 PM Monday at the STRANG FUNERAL HOME OF ANTIOCH, 1055 Main St. (Rte 83) and at the church Tuesday from 10:30 AM until time of services.
