"Thomas G. Coers, 71, a Shelbyville native, died Monday in Baxter General Hospital, Mountain Home, Ark.
"Mr. Coers was a retired pharmacist, having worked for Dow Chemical and Pitman-Moore corporations until his retirement in 1978. After his retirement, Coers and his wife, Willo Jean (Bond), moved from Indianapolis to Arkansas.
"The Coerses were married in Indianapolis in 1941. Mrs. Coers survives.
"Coers was born on July 5, 1910, to William and Edna (Harrell) Coers. He was a veteran of World War II, serving in the U.S. Navy. Mr. Coers was also member of the Masonic Order, Indianapolis, T.C. Shrine Club, Elks Lodge and the Northminster Presbyterian Church.
"Besides his wife he is survived by two daughters, An Williams, Glendale, Ariz., and Carol Kaiser, Tucson, Ariz.; one sister, Vivian Rowe, Shelbyville; and four grandchildren.
"A graveside memorial service is scheduled for 1 p.m. Tuesday at Forest Hill Cemetery, Shelbyville. The Rev. Gary Huffman will officiate. Local arrangements are being handles by the Ewing Mortuary.
"Memorials may be in the form of donations to the Hospice of the Ozarks or Shriners Hospital for Crippled Children."
