CHERRYVILLE — Fred Dale Hudson, 87, of 213 Sweetbriar Drive, died June 7, 2002. A funeral service was held at 11 a.m. today in the Cone Memorial Chapel of Carpenter's Funeral Home. Burial followed in Mount Zion Baptist Church Cemetery.
Born in Lincoln County, he was a member of First Presbyterian Church in Cherryville and worked as a driver for Carolina Freight Carriers until retirement.
Survivors include his wife, Alma Hollifeild Hudson; a son, Dale Hudson of Frisco, Texas; a daughter, Frances Mauney of Cherryville; two sisters, Willie Mae Ballard of Lincolnton and Jessie Smith of Cherryville; six grandchildren, Reba Craft, Michael Mauney, Elaine Carlson, Todd Hudson, Kathy Hodge, and Robert Hudson; and ten great-grandchildren.
