Conrad became a firefighter in the late 1910's and eventually established his own collection agency.
Betty and Conrad had three daughters, Betty Freda, Matilda Anna, and Virginia Elizabeth.
Conrad passed away at St. Luke's Hospital in Maumee, OH though he had resided in Toledo all his life, excepting a few months in a care center in Waterville, OH near the end.
Conrad was buried near the family monument Section A1, in Forest Cemetery, Toledo, OH after his funeral in Bethel Lutheran Church.
