He immigrated to the United States, joined the USAF, returned to Germany, met and married Christine Ritter, and returned to the United States.
The Conzelmann's settled in Ferndale in 1971, and after Horst retired from BP/Arco in the 1990s, they moved to Camano Island.
Horst enjoyed hunting, fishing, and walking along the beach and wooded trails, and was strong, caring, and a very loving father.
Horst passed away surrounded by his children and his friend of 79 years, Nick Krueger. He was welcomed in heaven by his wife of 55 years, Christine (2013), and daughter, Carmen Kirkey, (August 11, 2014). We will miss you, dad.
