MILITARY HONORS AT LAST RITES FOR
CORP. FLYNN.......b: 1923.......d: 1943

Funeral services for Corporal Douglas Flynn 19, who served with the ground forces at the army base near Galveston, TX were held Thursday afternoon at one o'clock at the Wilder funeral home.
The REv. Roy Smith, pastor of the First Evangelical church officiated. During the services Mrs. J. C. Jensen, sany "Jesus Never Fails" and "Sleep Soldier, Sleep". Members of the American Legion & Veterans of Foreign Wars served as pallbearers.
Burial was by his mother in the Holaday Creek cemetery, IA.
At the grave-side service Mr. Godfrey blew taps on the bugle, Mr. Youngstrom adjutant of the American Legion presented the United States flag which draped the casket to the soldier's father, (Frank Flynn.)
Beside the relatives from here who attended the services were Frank Flynn, father of the soldier who came from San Francisco, CA, his sister Flavia from Webster City, a cousin, Robert L. Flynn U.S.N. came from Corpus Christi, TX others from away were Mrs. Grace Bundy of Marcellus, MI, Mrs Floyd McCarty & family of Omaha, NE., and Charles Flynn of Webester City
