Bernadina was carried out of an upstairs window of her home during the 1913 flood to a waiting rowboat. (The same home, at southwest corner of Sycamore & Center in New Richmond, was later the home of her grandson Gene Eyl.)
She died at St. Francis Hospital, Cincinnati.
