Funeral services were held Tuesday, April 26, for John Rensink, Sr., who died Saturday, April 23, at his residence in Boyden. The Rev. Henry Steunenberg, pastor of the Boyden First Reformed church of which Mr. Rensink was a member for many years, conducted the funeral services.
Mr. Rensink was born April 26, 1870, at Sheyboygan, Wisc. He came to Sioux county with his parents in 1872 and settled at Hospers. In 1894 he moved to Boyden where he resided until the time of his death. He was united in marriage on March 12, 1891, to Ella Landhuis at Hospers. Six children were born to this union: Henry J. Harry, Leonard and John, all of Boyden, and Mrs. Henrietta Teeslink of La Cresenta, Calif. One son, Bernard Rensink, preceded him in death, August 29, 1919.
On November 19, 1942, he was united in marriage to Alida Landhuis of Hospers. One child, Betty Ellen, was born to this union.
