Dale Schaaf, 80 of Sioux Falls, died Friday, August 13, 2004 at his residence. Dale was born July 31, 1924 in Clark County, SD. He grew up in the area where he received his education, graduating from Clark High School. Following high school, he entered military service and served in the US Navy during World War II. He received his honorable discharge in December of 1946. Following military service, he returned to Watertown, SD where he drove truck for Transport, Inc. On December 31, 1947, he was united in marriage with Delane Lambert in Raymond, SD. The couple moved to Sioux Falls in 1956.
]Dale continued driving truck for a total of 40 years, retiring in 1980. Many of those years he drove for Midwest Coast Transport. Dale was a member of the VFW, the DAV, and the American Legion. was preceded in death by his parents, his brothers and sisters, Cecil, Lillian, Max, Larry, Eddie, and Emma; and a granddaughter, Jill. Services will be held 10:00 am Tuesday at Miller Funeral Home, Main Avenue location. Interment will be in Woodlawn Cemetery. Visitation will begin at 12 Noon on Monday with the family present to greet friends from 7:00 to 8:00 that evening.
