Anthony Joseph Yurik, Jr. age 80, died peacefully after a long illness on Saturday, August 30, 2014 at Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital Somerset in Somerville, New Jersey.

Sonny or Tony, as he was known to his family and friends, served as a Corporal in the United States Army during the Korean War. He was the owner of T&C Trucking.

He was predeceased by his parents Anthony Sr. and Viola A. Kneipp-Yurik of New Jersey and a young sister Elizabeth and his oldest sister Claire Marian Yurik-Naturile who died in 1993.

Tony is survived by his loving children, Sharon Yurik-Ambrose and son-in-law Richard Ambrose, Steven Yurik, James Yurik, Michelle Yurik and Theresa Yurik, and his three grandchildren, Kristen, Corey and James Jr.

Also surviving Tony are his siblings, Veronica, Rosemary, Antonette, Jane, Victor John Yurik and Toni Brenner, as well as many nieces and nephews.

Visiting hours were on Thursday, September 4, 2014 from 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. and 7:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. at the Bridgewater Funeral Home, 707 East Main Street, Bridgewater, New Jersey.

A Funeral Mass was offered on Friday, September 5, 2014, 9:30 a.m. at St. Bernard's Church 500 Route 22 East, Bridgewater, New Jersey.

Burial followed at 12:30 p.m. in the Shelter at Brigadier General William C. Doyle Veteran's Cemetery, Provinceline Road, Arneytown, New Jersey.
