Until I get around to actually dividing these up since the original contributor gave me access (thank you so much for the photos!), I'm just adding the notation I am almost positive that the larger marked grave is John H. Schroeder "Sr" and the smaller military marker is for John H. Schroeder "Jr". I tracked down the headstone application for the John H. Schroeder of Co. E, 189th Ohio Inf. and the death date is 6-15-1914, which means it definitely can't be the other John H. That military info and death date match a Pension Card listing one of John "Jr." sons in Metropolis as beneficiary. The death dates for the Johns also align well with censuses.

So I'm quite certain that the large headstone is John "Sr" (SR might actually be on the marker, it's hard to confirm though) and Mary Schroeder. The small military stone is for their son, John H. Schroeder. I have no idea who the small "JHS" pertains to, but the headstone application does say it is for an unmarked grave of a soldier, so maybe it's him as it's initials? That one is purely a guess though.
