John Wright was a master blacksmith who was born in New Jersey and resided in Belvidere, Warren, New Jersey, until about the time of the Civil War. He then moved his family to New Castle, New Castle, Delaware for some unknown reason. He had three sons in the Civil war, one is buried with him in his plot in Presbyterian Cemetery, the others are buried elsewhere in Delaware.
